Renting the Post 12 Hall

Print this for your records.  The Post 12 House Chair will be using this contract as a final agreement should you wish to rent the Post 12 Hall.

The following terms and conditions apply to reservations of the Somerville American Legion, Post 12 facilities:

  1. All reservations are not confirmed until a deposit of at least $50.00 is received.
  2. The maximum number of persons for an event must not exceed 130.
  3. Payment of any amount due is required on the day of the affair before the affair starts. Separate checks are required for hall and bar.
  4. All checks should be made payable to American Legion Post 12.
  5. A member who rents the hall must be in attendance at the event.
  6. A member will assume responsibility for his guests at any events he/she books.
  7. No tape may be affixed to walls, ceilings, doors, etc., and any items like streamers, etc, must be taken down when party is over.
  8. Alcoholic beverages MAY NOT  be brought into or removed from the post building.
  9. A Bartender must be hired for a party of 50 or more people.
  10. If no bartender is in attendance, NON-MEMBERS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PURCHASE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FROM BAR.
  11. Functions Monday to Saturday must end by 11:00 pm and premises must be vacated by 12:00 a.m. Functions on Sunday must end by 6:00 pm.
  12. Refund of the deposit will be provided if notification is received of cancellation 10 days after booking. Unless a rebooking of the function can be accommodated, deposit may not be refunded.
  13. Minors will not be served, nor consume alcoholic beverages.
  14. Any and all damage to the post’s property will be the financial responsibility of the person or persons reserving the facility.
  15. There will be no stacking of hall furniture.
Guests will confine their activities to the hall area.

The Entrance / Hall Door for hall functions, is located on the Union Ave. side of the building, (North Side) and must be used to enter and leave the premises.

Abusive language, fighting, and / or any other disturbance will be cause for immediate removal of the offender or offenders and / or cessation of the function. All monies for the function will be forfeited to Post 12.

 I have read and do understand the terms and conditions contained in this agreement between myself and Stevenson-D’Alessio, American Legion Post 12, 232 Union Ave., Somerville, NJ. I further agree to abide by these rules and the rules governing actions of person or persons on or about Post 12’s property. If these rules are not followed I could lose the right to rent the hall in the future.
